Minnie Barnes married William Holt. William Holt owned a farm and was known throughout the country for his knowledge of raising horses and mules. Seven children were born to the union of William and Minnie. Their children were Alvin Henry Clay Holt, George Ira Holt, Solomon Cephas Holt, Florence Holt, Fannie Mae Holt, and Willie Austin Holt. Alvin Holt married Emmalline Ammons. Thomas Holt married Mamie Harper. Thomas Holt married Mamie Harper. George Ira Holt married Survader Harper. Florence Mae Holt married Jacob Arnold. Fannie Mae Holt married Elmer Thomas Sr. Willie Austin Holt married Sarah Turner.
In 1922, Alvin Holt moved from Stockbridge, Georgia to Cleveland, Ohio with his wife Emmaline, and three children. He was followed by his brothers Solomon, Cephas (and his wife) and George Ira Holt (and his wife and family). Thomas Holt also moved to Cleveland but returned to Georgia soon after. Florence Holt Arnold and her husband and family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. At that time, Willie Austin Holt (and family) remained in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Later generations would migrate to other areas of the United States. The family flourished in areas of the country where they were located. Currently, the descendants of Alvin and Emmaline Holt reside in Cleveland, Ohio; Toledo, Ohio; Las Vegas, Nevada; Goldsboro, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; and Fort Campbell, Tennessee. Other Holt descendants reside in Georgia, Arkansas, Michigan, New York, South Carolina, as well as other parts of the U.S. It should be noted that after the death of his wife, Minnie Barnes Holt, William Holt married Henrietta Davis. To this union were born two sons, Edward Holt of Baltimore, Maryland and Howard Holt (deceased). Their descendants reside in Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
